DEQWEST'S BIOGRAPHY
Born in Molde, Norway Alexander deQwest developed a unique interest in music quite early, directly inspired by having a live band playing in the living room every weekend at home during his childhood.

Starting mixing in the age of 13 and playing his first gig at the age of 15, it took only 3 years before "Little Alex" was a household name on the Norwegian club scene, as the young, fresh talent.

He stayed on the road for much of the nineties DJ-ing in cities all over Norway --with regular gigs in select venues in cities as far apart as Oslo, Bergen, and Kristiansand. He started his first music company at the age of only 17, working mainly with DJ-ing, production, radio shows, fashion shows, theatre and dance shows. He has been working with both big underground parties and commercial parties for the last 17 years.

He has established a worldwide reputation for excellent technical DJ mixes and inspiring, colorful selection of tracks. This has been his trademark since he started out in 1989, and he has been keeping it real on the decks ever since.

He arranged his first straight house party in 1993 and made his first appearance abroad (US) in the same year. His musical journeys have been across many genres of music, including Hip-Hop, Acid Jazz, NuJazz, Drum & Bass and Techno. His club sets today consist of various deep, tech, soulful and jazzy house music.

Alexander deQwest also does unique NuJazz Sessions™ with his own distinctive style of modern Jazz --featuring live musicians and vocals on stage along with him, the vinyl and his decks.

He has been doin' mix shows at the Kongsberg Jazz Festival, producing for some of the finest rappers in Norway, performing and hosting several live radio shows. He has been the chosen DJ for red-carpet gigs like the Nordic Music Awards, Oslo Fashion Week and parties for leading music and lifestyle magazines amongst others.

Alexander deQwest has performed throughout Scandinavia, Europe and the US. He has been DJ-ing alongside such notable DJs as Fred Everything (OM Records), Groove Junkies (More House Rec.), Luke McKeehan (Nordic Trax), Tim Deluxe (Cement), Paul Jackson (Ministry of Sound) and Nicky Siano (Studio 54) to name only a few.

His innovative DJ sets have earned him fans worldwide. deQwest's contribution to the club culture runs deep; he directs several companies that produces and manages brand event nights like: LivingTheatre™, ClubAffected™, urbanSoul™ and NuJazz Sessions™
